WORKSHOP

PUSHING THE LIMITS OF PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY OF FUEL CELLS AND ELECTROLYSERS SYSTEMS

Workshop jointly organized by H2020 Projects REACTT and RUBY

15 September 2023 – Capri (Italy)

European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2023

TOPICS

On route from laboratory research to commercial exploitation of fuel cells and electrolysers systems a range of new challenges emerge around maximizing performance and durability to make the technologies competitive on the market. EU H2020 projects RUBY and REACTT address these challenges by joining effort of leading EU researchers and developers in academia and industry across various disciplines such as electrochemistry, electronics, information technologies and data science.

RUBY and REACTT are twin projects dedicated to the design of rather general embedded solutions for Monitoring, Diagnosis, Prognosis and Control (MDPC) for on-field operation of SOFC and PEMFC systems (RUBY), and SOEC and rSOC stacks and systems (REACTT). The event stressed the holistic framework of the two projects resulting in innovative HW and SW platforms that combine in a unique way advanced optimizing control and diagnostic techniques (including e.g. the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy). The intended use is envisaged in areas ranging from CHP, remote backups, hydrogen generation, grid-connected and stand-alone systems.

The event delivered a comprehensive overview and the essential projects’ outcomes and their potential for the interested stakeholders and users from academia, industry and research.
